A graduate school is formed among the nine PhD students that are hired in this programme. Gunnar Wingsle and Hannele Tuominen, who have extensive experience on graduate education leadership, will be responsible of the graduate school. The graduate school will have full access to the graduate education offered by UPSC and KBC (Chemical Biological Center at Umeå University; www.kbc.umu.se) as well as by Biomime graduate school (http://www.biotech.kth.se/biomime_grad_school)Two international graduate courses and two literature courses will be organized specifically for the graduate school. The first graduate course in 2011 will deal with wood biology from the applied perspective, while the second will deal with bioenergy and bioelectricity production from tree feedstocks. The graduate students will be enrolled into the seminar schedule of the UPSC graduate school.
